Bach Flower Essences

Dr Bach in his observations, noted that there appeared to be human groups or types, with similar personalities responded to the same medication.  Although those with the same complaint but different personalities required different medication.  The mind and emotional state appeared to be more important then the actual physical disease.

Bach became disillusioned with the medical practice (1914-18), and with his increased understanding converted to homeopathy (1919-1930), developing Bach nosodes.  In 1928, on visiting Wales he obtained two wild flowers (impatiens and mimulus), which he prepared homeopathically and used with good results.  From this he soon developed the sun and boiling methods.  Bach then went on to discover in total 38 flower essences – developing a whole new healing system, based on the flower essences covering groups or types.

Dr Bach categorises the essences into groups.  1. In case of fear; 2. In case of insecurity; 3. In case of lack of interest in present; 4. In case of Loneliness; 5. In case of hypersensitivity to ideas and influences; 6 In case of discouragement/despair; 7. In case of excessive care for the welfare of others; 8 extra – rescue remedy for emergencies.

The “scientific method” of choosing a flower essence tends to deal with the symptom rather than the cause, and can mask the true cause which will ultimately come out one way or another.  It separates the body and mind, specialising in a certain part, but not dealing with the whole picture, and doesn’t treat each individual as a unique and wonderful being,  The flower essences deal with the subtle bodies, which distortions first occur before they actually manifest in the physical, and can be chosen specifically for individual characteristics at any given time.

The flower essences directly effect the emotional body, which then filters down to the physical level.  The essences do however effect the mental level, by assisting to dislodge patterns and thoughts that may have created the distortion.

I have worked with essences since the 90s, and found that you can connect to the energy through photos and meditation to the essence you need.  This means you can get to a point when the physical need for direct essence on the tongue or skin, is not always required.
