YOU, as a TREE

Knowing yourself can take a life long journey.  If you would like to get creative, one way to understand yourself more fully, is to draw a tree.  The tree represents YOU.  You can use any medium; pen, pencil, paint, charcoal, ink etc.  You can use any colours, or none.  You can create it on any paper from B5 to A3.

I have used this technique for myself; and taught others since the early 90s.  It is a powerful tool to analyse your life through the eyes of symbology.  You may say, well once I know this, I can alter it to draw only the good things.  Well you can try, the funny thing is, you will find yourself wanting to put things into your drawing, and it is only when you take a step back, you go ‘”OH” look at that, that relates to this or that event in my life’.

This an example of a tree, the medium was watercolours.  If you wish to have a go for yourself, once you have drawn your tree; down one side mark the age by starting with 0 down the bottom and your current age at the top, on the other side you can do years, if you choose.  You will be amazed at what you see, feel and know are the messages for you and about your life experiences.

This is just one of the many creative tools I use when teaching a workshop or coaching with students/clients.  If I can assist you just ask.
