What makes a lasting relationship?

Marriage doesn’t just happen, you have to work at it.  The statistic of marriage lasting a life time can be viewed under Australian Statistics.  At a recent OPD2015, I was told 67% of second marriages end in divorce – the common areas of dispute are money, sex and/or children.

Any relationship won’t last, unless you are willing to spend time, IN it.  Relationships need to be two-way streets with equal giving and receiving.  Yes, this means both parties in the relationship.

A great idea before going into a relationship is to write your list of MUST haves.  Then when you have a relationship you can do a list of PROs and CONs.  If you are already in a relationship, then do a review.  Just like any job, regular reviews of how you are going, can to be helpful for long term effectiveness, for both parties.  Always seek professional assistance if needed.
