What I love about this book… – it’s Australian! – it’s easy to read! – it has simple easy ideas that can be used ASAP – it has many gems. Part1 – Dare to Dream – be yourself, dreams don’t happen overnight, mistakes make your smarter and stronger, insights come from everywhere, and (the gem) the black box. The black box is about shielding your confidence. Part2 – Create your own universe – study-finish what you start, networking for novices, get LinkedIn, creating a resume that gets read, succeeding at job interviews. Part3 – it’s all about the people – the first day of a new job, establishing a rapport with your colleagues, remembering and using people’s names, teamwork and poor team performance, getting people to say yes. Part4 – Be the best person you can be – getting organised and getting things done, spotting an opportunity and standing out, sucking it up, pushing back and saying no, working out when to leave. Part5 – the leadership track – setting priorities, the importance of delegating, building your leadership cadence, the work life balance myth, leadership- it’s personal. | |
