It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

In the land down under, it’s the opposite of cold,
It’s a hot summers day, where the heat is untold.
It’s storm clouds brewing, and moisture in the air.
Water beads on your brow, and ringlets in your hair.
All these things, let you know that Christmas is on its way,
You don’t need a hot dinner, just a cold drink at the end of the day.
The cool sea breeze is a blessing, that’s true.
You open your windows and let it blow through.
In no time at all, there are decorations everywhere,
With bargains for xmas, lights and tinsel flare.
Do you buy this, or that, or maybe say no to it all.
Is Christmas really about, what is in the mall?
What is that Christmas feeling, that fills us with delight?
It’s the feeling of giving, and not about the fight.
It’s peace and goodwill to all women and men.
It’s counting your blessings, and saying amen.
It’s the smile of a child, as they open a gift.
It’s the love that you feel, and not about the rift.
It’s forgiveness to all, with a heart of compassion.
It’s not about the ham or the trend of fashion.
Open your heart, and let Christmas in,
Find a smile on your face, and cake on your chin.
Let each day be a blessing, and a joy to unfold.
Let the spirit of Christmas never get old.
