Initiation

What is an initiation? Spiritually, an initiation is an entrance into a higher level of energy.  A person generally becomes a seeker, not knowing what they seek.  The lower levels of awakening can occur spontaneously, but the higher levels need the assistance of a teacher that has already moved into those higher levels of energy.

In observation, both attunements and initiations, introduce a higher level of energy into the initiates energy fields, which needs a base to rest upon.  Then it depends what the initiate does how the energy will be integrated.  It is important for an initiate to integrate the higher level, and to remain well grounded.  Generally, after a higher level initiation tests will come.

Within spiritual growth, an initiation can be a part of the energy transmission received via your spiritual teacher/master, which will assist the shift of surrender of the ego for the initiate to be reborn or re-awakened at a higher level, within the same life.  With each higher level of energy, comes greater powers, great awareness, and greater responsibility.  Consciousness at all levels is a necessity, and the higher you go becomes a must, as within the higher level being conscious means lessons can be learnt with ease and grace, and non-attachment, greater compassion and wisdom become the answers.

In Alice B. Bailey’s “The Rays and the initiations, a treatise on the seven Rays. Vol V”, she suggests 9 initiations, each with an affect on a focus, ray, and 1-7 on a centre.   A Ray is a group energy.  A centre is a chakra, and there are seven within the body.  1. Birth – physical, 7th Ray, 2nd centre; 2. Baptism – astral, 6th Ray, 3rd centre; 3. Transfiguration – mental, 5th Ray, 6th centre; 4. Renunciation – Buddhic, 4th Ray, 4th centre;  5. Revelation – Atmic,  1st Ray, 1st centre; 6. Decision – Monadic – 3rd Ray, 5th centre; 7. Resurrection – Logoic, 2nd Ray, 7th centre; 8. Transition- Planetary, Four minor rays; 9. Refusal – Systemic – Three major rays.

Bailey. “Initiation, Human and Solar.” iBooks – “First: With himself, and those in incarnation with him.  Second: With his higher Self, and thus with all selves.  Third: With his Spirit, or “Father in Heaven,” and thus with all Monads.  Fourth: With the Logos, the Three in One and the One in Three.”
