30day blitz and beyond

My Arbonne Story, why I joined in 2015

As I am predominately vegetarian, I had been looking for a protein shake for sometime which I could stomach.  I decided to try some new products and go for a 30day blitz.  My intention was to improve my health and fitness, regaining muscle tone and start the process of letting go of  a couple of kilos, which I had gained during the menopause shift.  I came across this product at a pamper party, and on instinct, my plan was to use this new nutritional product, combined with healthy eating and exercise.  I always like to try a technique or product on myself before I recommend it.

week 1 – I focussed on two shakes a day with one extra fibre plus a normal meal, supplemented with a appetite and thermo assist.  With anywhere from 20mins building to 60mins exercise per day.  I easily lost 1.2kg.  I wasn’t hungry, and I started to be adventurous with the use of the product.

***Adventurous recipe – two tomatoes, basil, parsley, little onion, shake and fibre, and just like magic a savoury breakfast.

****No egg veg fritter with tomato salsa and balsamic vinegar – left over vegies with shake, tomato, onion basil and balsamic vinegar

week 2 – I injured my foot, so my focus shifted to healing and used the product as a supplement.  I had lost another 1kg, however due to the injury, and added social events staying with two shakes a day was challenging, so I gained .4kg.  This side journey has allowed me to explore the challenge of little to no exercise, and social events. (photos include my recipe creations)

****(No egg/diary/gluten free) Choc mini pancakes with fresh strawberries and balsamic vinegar dressing

2 1/2 Tbsp (50ml) Tahini, 2 1/2 Tbsp (50ml) coconut oil, 1tsp baking powder, 3 scoops of choc shake, 3/4 cup coconut flour, 3/4 rice flour, 400ml almond milk, 1/2 cup water.  Mix in food processor till blended.  Heat pan use approx 15ml rice bran oil per 5 separate tsps mini pancakes.  Brown both sides.  Drain on paper.  Place on plate with your choice of fruit and dressing – suggest only 3 per serve – experimental recipe by me, but I am freezing the cooked remainder to see how they go.  Makes 32 and 54cals each without extra cooking oil or 85cals with rice bran oil.  Cooking in the oil helps the coconut flour not to be too dry.  Then whatever you such as strawberries and balsamic

week 3 – This week gives the challenge of living away from home, and still recovering from injury.  I chose not to take the shake while travelling, and just packed the appetite and thermo assist plus the fizzy drink too.  My foot is still healing, so I can’t walk for extended times yet, without discomfort or swelling.  I like the shake with the fizzy drink, and you can mix it in a shake bottle, and you don’t need a blender, so bonus.  I was able to modify my yoga routine to accomodate my foot.

week 4 – My foot has stopped me from doing any form of exercise for the past couple of weeks.  It has been frustrating, yet I have been able to maintain the couple of kilos.  My current focus is just being able to walk without needing pandol.  The bruising has gone, yet it still swells and is painful, if I walk on it.  I have have decided to hit the reset button, and do another 4wks.

Summary of my first 4wks with the product.  –  It was great to share some of my recipes in my first pamper party, however going forward I would like to the name them “get-togethers”.  Just ask if you would like to know more about the products.  The great news – a total loss of 2.1kg, without any major exercise for 3wks, and being able to eat out and still maintain.  Just started back on the elliptical trainer for 5mins, and still modifying yoga to suit.

week 5 – my in-between week –  Hitting the reset button,  Jumping for joy – now – total 3kg lost.  I’m excited to be doing another month, while attending quite a few functions.  Aiming to improve my fitness, while re-gaining movement in my foot.  I am enjoying finding new recipes and combinations (I’m trying the green balance now).  If you have the Arbonne products, why not join me on Facebook  If you would like to know more about the product, just ask.  I can offer some individual sessions, and for over 3 people we can hold a get-together and you can try the product, however this will need to be pre-booked.

*****ChocProtienBalls – 35cals each makes 48 small – MY favourite*******

– no bake, no gluten/eggs/diary, no added sugar (updated recipe 2017)
4 scoops choc shake
1 cup of moist flake coconut
2 tbsp tahini
3-4tbsp coconut oil
1 cup almond (roasted), 3/4 cup pitted dates or cranberries

Process until together
This is a sweet treat that is filling and flavoursome – great way to have a choc fix, and get your protein

****Blueberry, Pear and Spearmint Detox tea – handful of berries, 1/2 sliced pear and a sprig of freash spearmint – in a teapot place the detox tea bag, with the other items, pour boiling water over, and let steep.  The longer it sits the stronger the flavour.

***Banana, Blueberry Vanilla Protein Shake – 1 small banana, 1 handful of berries, 1-3 scoops of vanilla shake (depends on your taste and calorie requirements) blitz with a cup of water and ice.
